I think that 80% of my starter list is alcohol, followed by 10% wood & barrels and 4% food. The rest is spent on about 6 war dogs, 1 hunting dog, a mining pick or two and an axe. Everyone gets a dog, everyone gets at least a few points in wrestling, and everyone gets at least a point in swilling except my cook and possibly my noble.
As long as I don’t start on a map with a cave full of giants (yeah, set your perameters to ’stop world generation when only 10% of all megabeasts are dead’ and then do a search for caves in fort generation and see what you end up with). Challenges are fun and horrible at the same time.
EDIT: So, once a week feels really slow to me. I’ll be updating wednesday and friday, starting this week.

Yes, it’s a colossal pain in the ass, and I fear that this will discourage the casual reader from actually leaving comments, but it had to be done. Sorry I didn’t really give anyone a chance to respond when I first said I’d be doing this (earlier today, I became impatient), but it had to be done.For anyone still wondering why, it was because WP just wasn’t catching all the porn spam–anything with less than 300 links in it was getting through, and I wasn’t anticipating coming online and moderating 700 ‘click here for hot gay threesome’ comments (yes, there actually were about that many, which is what actually made me decide. I like my porn and my dorfs separate, thanks.
So here’s the way it works–sign up–it takes 5 minutes, go into your e-mail, confirm you’re not a bot for me, and then feel free to leave as many comments as you want provided you are not also going to spam me with porn links. I’ve been using this capatcha on my other websites, and it’s pretty much eliminated spam completely.
Anyhow, we now officially update once a week. I may up that to two days a week in the near future–we’ll see. Thanks, all, for being so damn patient.
